5 Things every Aviation Geek should do
If you love aviation, whether you work in the industry or not, we have created a list of 5 things every aviation geek should do! Add them to your bucket list, plan to do them this year, or just make sure you get it done before you die; either way you won’t want to miss out on this fun!
#1: Attend and Aviation Geek Fest. Did you know that all around the world are multiple Aviation Geek Fests thrown to pleasure simply the aviation geeks of the world! Check out airlines, ongoing projects, and so much more! If you want to get a better idea of what’s included at these geek fests then check out one that happened last year right here!
#2: Ride on the Hello Kitty Plane. Ok I know this one doesn’t seem to be that big of a deal but if you are a geek then you would be geeking out at the idea of riding on the one and only (in the world) Hello Kitty Airplane. This plane isn’t just fully decorated with the hello kitty icons; inside is a world of hello kitty decor, with cabin crew dressed in hello kitty designs, and even hello kitty food!

#3: Go inside a working FAA Control Tower. Now this experience will be one to remember and if you do get the experience, most likely it won’t come back around for a while, if ever again. If you get to go inside a working FAA Control Tower you get to see the amazing views, check out all the controls, and get a little taste of what it would be like to be one of those technicians. Hint Hint, the job ain’t easy!
#4: Do a behind-the-scenes airport tour. If you have been through many airports then you know a lot goes on in them, but what it takes to make them run smoothly is beyond something you can imagine without experiencing it. We might have gotten a little taste when Tom Hanks starred in The Terminal, portraying a man who got stuck in an airport and had to live there for a few months. Get a real taste and go on a tour of your local airport!

#5: Last but not least, fly in a World War II Aircraft. This my friends, is aviation geek at it’s best! Nothing will beat your experience of actually flying passenger in an aircraft that was used to fight a war. There are a few ways to experience this. Check your local museum, local airports, or look it up online. I think you would be surprised how easy it might be to take advantage of this one without having to put it on your bucket list.
