I don’t know if anyone else has noticed but there has been a lot of safety issues these past few weeks. First there was the letter issued by United to their pilots regarding some issues. Then there was news about Southwest missing inspections on over 100 of their airplanes. All this to come after Malaysia airlines have had bout after bout with missing airlines and crashing planes. Are you feeling a little concerned?

The good news is many countries have not experienced any flying-related tragedies in many years. Places such as The United States, Canada, Dubai, just to name a few! So then does the concern become completely related to where you are located? I would think so. The Cranky Flier recently published a post on safety concerns and asked people to chime in. Their comments certainly give evidence to the theory that safety concerns are location specific but there are also some very interesting schools of thought regarding Southwest’s issues with their missed inspections.
