Teens looking into Aviation more than ever

According to the Auburn Municipal Airport, There’s a growing effort to make the Aviation industry more diverse. Aviation professionals are now trying to encourage young teens that this career path might be the one for them and they too can sit in the captain’s seat one day!

5 reasons why working in the aviation industry is an awesome career path:

  1. Provides employees with monetary compensation, health insurance, retirement plans, vacation and sick leave.
  2. Provides flexible spending accounts.
  3. Free airfare for employees and family.
  4. Heavily discounted vacation packages or theme parks.
  5. Opportunity to meet new people.

In addition to the benefits of working in the aviation industry, competitive salaries are also offered to its employees — especially pilots who work for corporate airlines. According to PayScale, a corporate pilot with 5 years of experience can earn an average salary of $97,300 for their expertise which I would say that is a pretty comforting lifestyle to live. In addition to the pilot salaries, aircraft engineers can range anywhere from $85,000-98,000 depending on the amount of experience.

But what about flight attendants?

Obviously the flight attendants hold the more ‘glamorous’ positions in the Aviation industry, but the pay is unfortunately, significantly lower. So what exactly are the benefits? Yahoo has tracked a couple of cabin crew member’s lifestyles to see how glamorous the job actually is. Apparently the lower salary is totally worth the traveling benefits that the cabin crew gets to experience. See for yourself.
